Predicting Success: The Impact of New Attractions on the Performance of (European) Theme Parks
Focus: Setting the Strategy

Can the success of an additional attraction to your park be predicted or calculated? Are there easily identifiable variables that can be employed by park managers to determine the impact on attendance or profitability of adding an attraction? Academicians at Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands think so and they have developed an intriguing tool to calculate such an impact. Using an Attractions Response Matrix they have had success in determining such outcomes in a variety of parks in Europe. Moniek Hover & Pieter Cornelis from the university present their research and explore the factors and variables that should be taken into consideration in developing this econometrical model.

Speakers: Peter Cornelis, Moniek Hover, Breda University of Applied Sciences.
